Pennine Ecological are an independent, Lancashire based consultancy
run by Robert. N. Leatham and Ian Ryding, both of whom have
worked extensively within the sphere of nature conservation
and ecology for many years. The company was formed in 1996,
although the combined experience of the partners spans thirty
years, during which time both individuals have applied a wide
range of ecological survey techniques and methodologies, throughout
the County and many regions of the UK.
Our services include a full range of ecological survey, evaluation, impact assessment and mitigation implementation, and although most of our work relates to development schemes, we also undertake monitoring and provide management guidance on nature reserves and other protected sites. We pride ourselves on impartial, objective and scientific survey and advice. Most of our work is carried out in-house, however we occasionally commission approved and accredited sub-contractors for specialist studies.
Our client base is varied and wide ranging and includes; private individuals; local authorities; county councils; planning consultants; landscape practices and land developers. Recent clients include Manchester International Airport; United Utilities, Transco, the Highways Agency, and the Environment Agency.
